Little did I know quite how exciting this project was going to be after I received a phone call from these wonderful clients.
We spoke on the phone for some time and the client explained that he and his wife had bought this wonderful Devon long house, nestled in the glorious rolling fields of the Blackdown Hills.
The house spans many centuries and periods, from Medieval, Jacobean, Victorian and Georgian. My brief was simple and that was to produce furnishings that evoked each era of the house whilst maintain a flow of colour and cohesiveness to the property.
The appointment was set, and I duly arrived with armfuls of pattern books. I had formed a feel for the property and had, prior to our meeting, put a scheme together which would encompass living areas, kitchen, sitting, dining room and bedroom ideas. Moving seamlessly through colour and fabric styles picking out the various rooms, that had been indicated to me that had some historic significance.
It was one of those times when you really get it right! All of the samples I set out on their kitchen table were all the samples we used from the final scheme.
Tucked away in the Blackdown Hills AONB, we worked with the clients to renovate their spectacular thatched farmhouse and former dairy.
We worked with the client to reintroduce fabrics, soft furnishings and colour schemes to enhance the properties existing features, right the way through the house, from top to bottom. It was an absolute joy to see the scheme come to life and more so how pleased the clients were with the end result.
This involved a collaborative process of understanding the client's vision and preferences, meticulously selecting fabrics that harmonised with the existing décor while injecting fresh personality. We introduced luxurious curtains and blinds, tailored to precise measurements, ensuring a seamless flow and accentuating the architectural details.
Our colour scheme service played a pivotal role, carefully analysing the existing palette and proposing subtle yet impactful shifts to create a cohesive and inviting ambiance. Throughout the project, we provided comprehensive project management, ensuring seamless execution from initial concept to final installation. The result was a space that exuded sophistication and warmth, seamlessly blending the client's vision with our expertise, creating a truly harmonious and inspiring environment.
